One-year parts and labor warranty
Refurbished by Wertronic. This amplifier has been restored and refurbished by Wertronic. The unit was disassembled and thoroughly cleaned; switches and potentiometers were opened where necessary and cleaned with specific products. The electrolytic capacitors were replaced with Nichicon audio-grade capacitors. Bias, zero points, and power limiters were adjusted.

Technics SU-8080 - Amplifier

Marketed: 1976-1979
Supplied with a copy of the user manual in English and the advertising brochure in English.
Review: Le Haut Parleur Magazine No. 1632, May 1978, Pages 193 and 308
Its price in 1978: 3180 Francs (for reference, the minimum wage in 1978 was 1840 Francs).

Dual-mono design
The SU-8080 amplifier is a dual-mono design, meaning that each channel has a completely independent power supply.
It uses two powerful power transformers and four 10,000 µF electrolytic capacitors.

The transformers are equipped with strict magnetic shielding and are located on the diagonal furthest from the equalization circuit,
thus contributing to an excellent signal-to-noise ratio.

Power Amplifier
The SU-8080's power amplifier is a DC amplifier designed to ensure maximum waveform fidelity.
It comprises a first differential amplification stage, a purely resistive load voltage amplifier,
an emitter follower, and a fully complementary two-stage output stage with a Darlington connection.

For complete reproduction of low frequencies down to 0 Hz, all coupling capacitors have been
completely eliminated from the SU-8080's circuitry.
No capacitors are present in the signal path: in the output stage, between stages, or in the NFB (Negative Feedback Loop).

Special Feature
Phono Inputs: Switchable Input Resistance/Capacitance Settings
The phono input impedance has a subtle but significant effect on the sound quality produced.
On the SU-8080, the input resistance is switchable between 27 kΩ and 47 kΩ, while the capacitance is adjustable between high and low.
This provides a total of four possible combinations, allowing the SU-8080 to accept the full range of MM cartridges.

A jumper on the rear panel allows the KA-7300 to be used in three different ways:
1. Integrated amplifier (jumper in place - normal operation)
2. Preamplifier
3. Power amplifier.
